Wightwood Abbey Kickstarter – Great Looking Gaming Terrain

We are starting into the final day on this Kickstarter! There are 70 models unlocked!

Wargame terrain - Wightwood AbbeyWhen the Wightwood Abbey Kickstarter was announced, I was intrigued by their ambitious project.  I was then  lucky enough to have Infinite Dimensions Games get a hold of me and sent me a model of the Abbot’s House to print.  I ended up printing this “pre release” model as soon as it came in.  This model is pretty spectacular looking.  Featuring 3 major pieces and one minor roof piece, the model just looks phenomenal.  You can see a photo of it to the left.  There was some slight adhesion issues on my end with the roof, but other than that one blemish, the model is, in a word, spectacular.  And, this is not the final version of this model. (Note: There are 2 videos at the end of article to check out, too).

Wightwood Abbey FountainInfinite Dimensions Games have also released 2 other models on Thingiverse to check out.  The first is the Wightwood Abbey Fountain and the most recent freebie is the Wightwood Abbey Marker Stone.  These are great models for you to get your hands on and check out. I’ve printed out both models and am very happy with the results.

Lady Shannon - Patron of WightwoodThe Infinite Dimensions Games crew released yet another model.  This one, you have to go to the Infinite Dimensions Games website and sign up for their newsletter.  This is a limited time offer, so hurry up.  When you do, you get a cool new model of “Lady Shannon, Patron of Wightwood”.  With a week to go, this is the 3rd model they have released to those interested in the Wightwood Abbey Kickstarter.

In the first 2 weeks, the Kickstarter has blasted through 11 stretch goals and is taking us into the historic sites stretch goals.  The actual Kickstarter includes 5 buildings: The Gatehouse, the Abbot’s House, Stables, Scriptorium, and Church.  Through the stretch goals, so far, we have additional furnishings for the buildings, additional ornamentation outside, extended wall defenses, and now have an ancient shrine unlocked.  They have a very ambitious list of additional stretch goals that sound pretty awesome should the Kickstarter fund at a high enough level.

Wightwood Abbey MarkersJust after the kickstarter started, I was able to conduct a short interview with Dawa and James.  You can find out more about the team behind  Infinite Dimensions Games and this Kickstarter there.
